Rives Audio is a company founded
and dedicated to listening room and home theater acoustics. We provide solutions
and services for correcting anomalies in the home listening environment. This is
done through hardware, software, and consultation. Rives Audio provides cost effective
high-end hardware solutions with technically proficient engineering practices and
sonically outstanding results. These solutions are for known problems in the listening
environment, that due to the increased resolution of high end audio systems, now
plague the improvement in reproducing the musical experience. Rives Audio has three
levels of acoustical consultation services to meet a variety of customer needs.
This is something that has an increasing need, but relatively few places provide
this service at the level or attention to sonic detail that it deserves.

Products

The PARC is a Parametric Adaptive
Room Compensation system. Rives Audio designed the PARC because current stereo and
home theater components have exceeded the capability of their environment. Today's
high-end speakers and electronics have the capability of delivering a near flat
response throughout the audible frequency range (20Hz to 20kHz). However, these
systems interact with their environment, namely the room they are located in. One
of the largest problems in typical listening rooms is standing waves or room modes
caused by parallel walls. The PARC is specifically designed to alleviate this problem.
The PARC is a 3 band parametric
equalizer (parametric eq). It compensates for room modes or axial modes that cause
the certain bass frequencies to be elevated in the room.

and supplies a variety of acoustical software and acoustical measurement tools:
We offer ETF, Energy Time
Function software; BARE, Bass and Room Evaluator; Calibrated microphones and pre-amps,
hi resolution sound cards, CARA software, and our Rives Audio Test CD 2. This CD
is the only CD calibrated for the Radio Shack analog sound meter.

After investing a lot in equipment,
shouldn't you get the most out of your listening room? Unfortunately, when it comes
to home audio, most people don't. After researching and purchasing very good and
often state of the art equipment the room is ignored. This is very unfortunate,
because the room is often the most important factor in achieving good quality sound.
We specialize in small room
acoustics, listening rooms, media rooms, home theater room design, including home
theater sound proofing, and have over 30 years of experience in acoustical engineering
and design. We've designed rooms from New York to Singapore and can improve the
sound of virtually any listening room. In fact, our designs will make a more dramatic
change in your system than any upgrade at a similar and often much higher price.
We design rooms for home theaters as well as 2 channel audio on both a domestic
and international basis. However, in all cases the primary goal remains the same:
to achieve the best sonic results. There are three levels of acoustical consultation
available.
At all three levels our priority
is to develop an acoustically rewarding change in the listening environment while
keeping in mind any constraints our client may have, such as square footage available,
existing structures, aesthetics, and overall cost. We understand that the best acoustical
solution, may be impractical for some. And what is practical for one customer, may
not be practical for another. Stereo acoustics (2 channel acoustics) differ from
home theater acoustics, and through the design process we try to understand our
customers needs from aesthetic designs to ultimate acoustical designs. Even at the
entry level we take into consideration the customers individual needs. At the higher
levels we work through more constraints and more options.
